We're accepting new patients. If you're switching dentists, new to the area, or haven't been in for a while, this page covers what to expect so there are no surprises when you arrive.
Your first visit runs about 1 to 1.5 hours. That's longer than many offices schedule, and it's deliberate — it's enough time to actually look at everything rather than rushing you through.
Dr. Lebovich performs a full oral examination, checking for tooth decay, gum disease, bite problems, and anything else that needs attention. You'll have a full set of X-rays and an oral cancer screening. Afterward, the two of you sit down and go through what he found, what needs treatment now, what can wait, and what it will cost.
A cleaning may happen during the same visit or be scheduled as a follow-up, depending on what the exam turns up. If there's significant tartar buildup or gum inflammation, a standard cleaning isn't the right treatment and we'll tell you that instead of doing it anyway.
You'll leave with a written treatment plan and pricing. No decisions are made for you in the chair.
Filling these out at home saves 10–15 minutes in the waiting room.

If the form doesn't load or you'd rather fill it out on paper, call us at 805-495-2431 and we'll set it aside for you.
We're out of network with dental insurance plans. That's a choice, and it's worth explaining rather than burying.
In-network contracts set what a dentist can recommend and how much time each appointment gets. Staying out of network means appointment length is determined by what you need, and treatment recommendations come from Dr. Lebovich rather than from a plan's approved-procedure list.
If you have a PPO: most plans reimburse out-of-network care, often at 50–80% for basic procedures. We provide an itemized superbill after your visit that you submit to your insurer directly.
If you're uninsured: our membership plan runs about $1/day and covers preventive care — exams, cleanings, and X-rays — plus a discount on other treatment. For larger treatment, payment plans are available.
New and uninsured? Your first exam, full X-rays, and oral cancer screening are $59.
A lot of our patients haven't been to a dentist in years, and usually there's a reason. Nobody here is going to lecture you about it.
Tell us at the start of the appointment. We'll explain what's happening before we do it, stop whenever you ask, and go at whatever pace you need. For patients who need more than that, sedation options are available — talk to us when you book.

Dr. Vadim Lebovich earned both his Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California, completing his DDS in 2006. At USC he was selected by faculty to teach dental hygiene to his classmates and served as a student examiner for the International Dental Students Program. He later completed a dental implant mini-residency.
He is a member of the Ventura County Dental Society, the California Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He speaks English, Russian, and Spanish.
The practice is independently owned rather than part of a corporate dental group, so you see the same dentist at every visit.
