A dental implant replaces a missing tooth from the root up. A titanium post is placed into the jawbone, bone grows around it over a few months, and a custom crown is attached on top. The result functions like a natural tooth — you chew normally, clean it normally, and it doesn't affect the teeth beside it.
What makes our approach different: Dr. Lebovich performs both the surgical placement and the final crown himself. Most general dentists refer the surgery to an oral surgeon, then restore the implant afterward — which means two offices, two fee schedules, and no single person accountable if something doesn't fit right. Here, one dentist owns the whole case from the 3D scan to the day you bite down on the finished tooth.

Most offices won't publish numbers. Here's what to actually expect.
| Treatment | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Single implant (post, abutment, crown) | $3,500 – $5,500 |
| Bone graft, if needed | $600 – $1,200 |
| Sinus lift, if needed | $1,500 – $2,500 |
| All-on-4 full arch | $22,000 – $30,000 |
| All-on-8 full arch | $30,000 – $40,000 |
What moves the number: how much bone you have, whether an extraction is needed first, and the crown material. You'll get a written figure at your consultation before anything is scheduled — no surprises mid-treatment.
On insurance: we work with PPO plans as an out-of-network provider. Most PPO plans cover a portion of implant treatment, and we'll file the claim for you — you're reimbursed at your plan's out-of-network rate. We don't accept HMO, DMO, or Medi-Cal plans. Payment plans are available, and our membership plan is a good option if you're uninsured.
1. Consultation and 3D scan. We take a cone-beam scan to measure bone volume and map nerve position. This determines whether you're a candidate and whether grafting is needed. You leave knowing the plan, the timeline, and the cost.
2. Extraction and grafting, if needed. If the tooth is still present and failing, it comes out first. If bone volume is insufficient, a graft is placed and heals for three to four months.
3. Implant placement. A single implant takes about an hour under local anesthetic. Sedation is available if you're anxious. Most patients take ibuprofen for a day or two and return to work the next day.
4. Healing. Three to six months while bone integrates with the implant. You'll wear a temporary tooth in the meantime if it's in a visible position.
5. Crown placement. We take a digital scan with the iTero scanner — no putty trays — and the crown is milled and shade-matched to your surrounding teeth. It's fitted, adjusted, and done.
Total timeline: four to nine months for most single implants, depending on whether grafting is involved.
Implants work for most adults. The factors that matter:
Age isn't a limiting factor. We place implants in patients in their eighties.
| Implant | Bridge | Denture | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Affects neighboring teeth | No | Yes — they get filed down | No |
| Prevents bone loss | Yes | No | No |
| Typical lifespan | 20+ years | 10–15 years | 5–10 years |
| Feels like a natural tooth | Yes | Mostly | No |
| Upfront cost | Highest | Middle | Lowest |
An implant costs more initially and usually less over twenty years. A bridge requires cutting down two healthy teeth. Dentures move, and the jawbone shrinks beneath them over time. We'll tell you plainly which fits your situation — including when a bridge is the better call.
If another office has quoted you for implants or a full-arch case, bring your X-rays and treatment plan. Dr. Lebovich will examine you and give you a straight assessment of what's actually necessary. The second opinion consultation is free.
Large treatment plans deserve a second look, and sometimes there's a simpler option than what's been proposed.
How painful is getting a dental implant?
Placement is done under local anesthetic and most patients report it as easier than an extraction. Soreness for two to three days afterward, managed with over-the-counter ibuprofen. Most people return to work the next day.
How long do dental implants last?
With good hygiene and regular checkups, 20 years or more — many last a lifetime. The crown on top may need replacing after 10 to 15 years of wear.
Can I get the implant and crown on the same day?
In some cases, yes. Immediate placement depends on bone quality and whether an extraction is involved. Your 3D scan determines whether it's an option for you.
Do implants set off airport metal detectors?
No. Titanium isn't magnetic and the quantity is far too small.
What happens if an implant fails?
Failure is uncommon — under 5% of cases. When it happens it's usually within the first few months, before the crown is placed. The implant is removed, the site heals, and placement can usually be attempted again.
Can I get implants if I've been told I don't have enough bone?
Often yes. Bone grafting and sinus lifts are designed exactly for this. We've treated patients turned away elsewhere. Bring the imaging you have and we'll assess it.
Do you place All-on-4 and All-on-8?
Yes — both are done in-house. See All-on-4 and All-on-8, or read about full-arch options.
